Applying to the School of Business is simple, and our admissions team is here to support you every step of the way. Whether you're a domestic or international student, we'll help you choose the right programme, confirm you meet the entry requirements, and guide you through the application and enrolment process. Once your application has been submitted with the required supporting documents, it will be assessed by our admissions team, who will keep you informed throughout the process. From your first enquiry through to your first day of study, we're committed to making your transition into study as smooth and straightforward as possible, so you can focus on achieving your goals and building a successful future.

Domestic Students - How to Apply

All learners must complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR‑Q) at enrolment. Where any risk factor is identified, a medical clearance is required before participating in practical components. This requirement applies equally to classroom and distance learners to ensure fairness and safety.
The academic entry guidelines stated are only a guide for applicants; each application will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Complete Application form
Please complete the application form for your programme(s) of interest. Please complete ALL sections of the form, attach the required verified documentation and sign and date the declaration at the end.
There is some standard information we need you to provide, this is broken down into four sections - personal details, contact details, education details, and general details. This should be pretty straight forward to complete, but you can always contact us if you need help.
Personal details – name, date of birth, etc
Contact details – this is your postal address, email address and phone number so we can contact you, as well as the details of a contact person in case of an emergency.
Education details – in this section, we ask for details about your secondary and tertiary education. This information will help our team assess your application. If you have a National Student Number (NSN), please include the number in this section and we will be able to access your NCEA Record of Learning ourselves. If you have additional documentation that you would like to submit to support your application, you can email it to us at admin@sobl.ac.nz
General details – this section includes questions we are required to ask by the Ministry of Education.

Outcome
Once you have submitted your application, we will complete an online assessment of your application. If you have supplied all the required information and you meet all the conditions of entry, we will make you an offer of enrolment. If we need more information from you to assess your application, we will tell you what is required, how you can provide the information, and what the next steps are.
Complete your Payment
Please complete your payment as agreed. This can either be by bank transfer or credit card. Please contact our career advisors to discuss payment options for your programme of enrolment.

International Students - How to Apply

Please complete the application form for your programme(s) of interest.
Please complete ALL sections of the form, attach the required verified documentation and sign and date the declaration at the end. Our Admissions Team will review your application and supporting documents. If any additional information or documents are required, we will contact you during the assessment process.
Receive your Letter of Offer
Once your application has been assessed and you have met the entry requirements, your Letter of Offer will be issued within two business days. At the same time, you will receive an email inviting you to register for your Student Portal.
Sign Offer
Please complete your Student Portal registration and review and sign your Letter of Offer through the portal.
Make Your Initial Payment
After we receive your signed Letter of Offer, please make your initial payment (as outlined in your Letter of Offer) to the nominated bank account (shown in the offer letter). When making the payment, please include your full name as the payment reference.
Once the payment has been made, please reply to the email with a screenshot or receipt of your payment for our records
Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
Once your payment has been confirmed, your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will be issued. Take this Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) to Immigration NZ to obtain your student visa approval.

All International students must hold a valid student visa for the duration of their studies.
